Oracle Database Trace Log Analysis
The Oracle Database Trace Log Analysis dashboard provides analysis of Oracle Database trace logs collected from trace files and database tables over a specified time period.
Database administrators can use this dashboard to investigate ORA and TNS code trends, trace-log components, thread and record types, and error IDs associated with database activity. Oracle Log Analytics enriches detected problems and incidents to help correlate errors and support troubleshooting.
Here's the list of widgets displayed in the Oracle Database Trace Log Analysis dashboard:
| Widget | Description |
|---|---|
| Trace files analyzed | Shows the number of Oracle Database trace files analyzed during the selected time range. Use it to confirm the trace-file volume contributing to the dashboard results. |
| Unique Sessions | Shows the number of unique database sessions identified in the analyzed trace logs. Use it to understand the session population associated with the collected trace activity. |
| ORA and TNS codes trend | Shows the trend of ORA and TNS error codes over time. Use it to identify error spikes and correlate them with database events or changes. |
| Top 10 Components | Shows the ten components with the highest volume of trace-log activity. Use it to identify components that are most active or most frequently represented in the analyzed logs. |
| Thread Types | Shows the distribution of thread types found in the trace logs. Use it to understand the types of database processes or threads associated with the recorded activity. |
| Error IDs by Component | Shows error IDs grouped by database component. Use it to identify which components are associated with specific errors. |
| Record Types | Shows the distribution of trace-log record types. Use it to understand the types of trace information collected and their relative volume. |
| Components with ORA- Error IDs | Shows components associated with ORA error IDs. Use it to focus troubleshooting on components reporting Oracle Database errors. |
| ORA- Error Codes, Components, Thread Types | Provides a detailed view that correlates ORA error codes with their associated components and thread types. Use it to investigate the context in which specific Oracle errors occur. |
| ORA- Error IDs distribution by component | Shows the distribution of ORA error IDs across database components. Use it to compare error concentration between components and identify areas requiring investigation. |
| Raw trace logs | Shows the underlying trace-log records. Use it to review the detailed log content and investigate individual sessions, errors, components, or threads. |
