ExaWatcher Overview

The ExaWatcher Overview dashboard helps you investigate Exadata performance and resource utilization using collected ExaWatcher data.

The System, Processes, and Memory tabs provide system metrics, CPU utilization, user and process activity, and memory utilization. The IO Stats tab shows Capacity Flash utilization, read and write operation rates, throughput, and I/O service time to help you identify changes in storage activity and potential performance bottlenecks.

Here's the list of widgets displayed in the System tab in the ExaWatcher Overview dashboard:

Widget Description
Key Metrics Summarizes load average, memory, and swap metrics across the selected servers. Use it to assess resource usage and identify servers that need further investigation.
CPU Utilization Shows average system, user, and I/O-wait CPU time by server. Use it to compare CPU activity across servers and investigate time spent waiting for I/O.

Here's the list of widgets displayed in the Processes tab in the ExaWatcher Overview dashboard:

Widget Description
User and Process Overview (Last 24 hours) Shows the top processes and users by CPU and memory consumption. Use it to identify processes and users contributing the most resource usage.

Here's the list of widgets displayed in the Memory tab in the ExaWatcher Overview dashboard:

Widget Description
Memory Utilization Shows memory and swap utilization trends by server. Use it to identify increases in memory usage and periods of increased swap utilization.

Here's the list of widgets displayed in the IO Stats tab in the ExaWatcher Overview dashboard:

Widget Description
Capacity Flash Utilization (%) Shows average Capacity Flash utilization as a percentage. Use it to identify periods of increased storage activity.
Capacity Flash Write Operations/s Shows the average number of Capacity Flash write operations per second. Use it to identify changes in write activity.
Capacity Flash Read Operations/s Shows the average number of Capacity Flash read operations per second. Use it to identify changes in read activity.
Capacity Flash Read Throughput (MB/s) Shows average Capacity Flash read throughput in megabytes per second. Use it to identify changes in the volume of data read.
Capacity Flash Write Throughput (MB/s) Shows average Capacity Flash write throughput in megabytes per second. Use it to identify changes in the volume of data written.
Capacity Flash I/O Service Time Shows average Capacity Flash I/O service time. Use it to identify increases in storage latency and investigate potential I/O bottlenecks.
