Roving Edge Infrastructure

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Roving Edge Infrastructure brings OCI services to locations where data is generated and consumed, including environments with limited connectivity. The Rover subject area provides an inventory of Roving Edge nodes across tenancies, compartments, and regions. Teams can review node counts, lifecycle states, node types, shapes, and serial numbers. Node details also expose certificate identifiers, algorithms, and validity end times to support review of the certificates associated with the device inventory.

Business Questions

The subject area can answer the following business questions:

  • How many Rover nodes are recorded in each tenancy, region, and compartment?
  • How many nodes are in each lifecycle state?
  • How is the node inventory distributed by node type and shape?
  • Which node names and serial numbers identify the devices in each compartment?
  • Which nodes were created during a selected period?
  • Which nodes have a certificate validity end time before a selected date?
  • Which certificate authorities and certificate algorithms are associated with the nodes?

Logical Model

The model centers on Fact - Rover Node, which joins to Rover Node, Rover Node - Fact Details, and the shared Compartment, Date, Region, and Tenancy dimensions. The node dimension contains resource identity, device attributes, lifecycle details, and certificate metadata; the fact exposes Rover Node Count.

The Roving Edge Infrastructure fact table is connected to dimension tables.

Metric Details

The following metrics are exposed in the presentation fact folders. Count measures count stored fact records selected by the report filters, using the fact key. They do not calculate distinct resource IDs.
