Management Agent

OCI Management Agents enable communication and data collection between OCI services and managed targets. The Management Agent subject area supports inventory and configuration analysis for agents and installation keys. Teams can review agent availability, lifecycle, platform, version, and host associations; identify limited installation keys nearing expiration and inspect their allowed and current installation counts. Tenancy, compartment, region, and date dimensions provide shared context for the two resource counts.

Business Questions

The subject area can answer the following business questions:

  • How many management agents are recorded by availability status, lifecycle state, and region?
  • Which agent versions and platforms are deployed?
  • Which compute hosts have management agents associated with them?
  • Which limited installation keys are nearing expiration or have reached their allowed installation count?
  • How many installation keys are recorded by creator principal and lifecycle state?
  • Which agents and installation keys were created or updated recently?

For expiration and installation-limit checks, filter Management Agent Install Key Details. Is Unlimited to N (false). In that folder, use Time Expires for expiration and compare Current Key Install Count with Allowed Key Install Count for usage. Keys with Is Unlimited = Y (true) have no expiration date or usage limit; exclude them from these checks.

Logical Model

The model centers on Fact - Management Agent and Fact - Management Agent Install Key. The agent fact relates to Management Agent details and Compute Instance host details. The install key fact relates to install key details and Identity Provider. Both facts also join their fact details plus compartment, tenancy, region, and date.

The diagram contains one tab for each fact. Use the diagram’s page selector to view its relationships.

The Management Agent fact table is connected to dimension tables.
